About Me

My name is Kenda and I bring you greetings from Durham, North Carolina. I’m a lover of all things Jesus, family, nature, and coffee. ❤

I’m a research and communications specialist by trade, and an artist, writer, runner, and traveler in my spare time. I enjoy the beach, chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, and summer nights by the bonfire (with a bag of fresh boiled peanuts in hand). Yes, I am a country girl.

My mom gave me my very first journal when I was in middle school. Writing became an outlet and way for me to express myself. Later, I discovered a love for poetry, and well…let’s just say I have been writing ever since.

Although I gave my life to Jesus Christ at a young age, I didn’t fully come to understand the beauty of relationship and identity in Him and Father God until quite recently. Over the years, I noticed as I learned more about Him (and myself), my desire to write and journal grew significantly. I rarely ever leave home without my journal. I always keep it handy, because God is always speaking, and nothing He says is too big or too small. Every journal entry is a record, a time stamp, and a reminder of what He has released and what He has promised.

The experiences, moments, and words that were once so carefully tucked away in the pages of my journal are bursting at the seams. I can’t keep it to myself any longer, because it is much bigger than me. Someone, somewhere needs it. Could that someone be you?

God has placed so many gifts on the inside of us – gifts to encourage , share truth, and bring others into relationship with Him. That is why I created this blog. May you be encouraged to search for the deeper, and to pursue all the great things God has in store for you.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31, KJV
